Heritage & Craft

The Arc — Shibori's Most Dramatic Form

The sweeping diagonal arcs on this fabric are created by folding the cloth into a fan, binding at precise intervals, and dipping into teal dye. The pink oval dots along each arc are individually bound resist points — each one tied by hand.

The result is a piece that looks like it was painted by a brush — but was made entirely through the ancient art of binding and dye.

The Making

Fan, Bind, Dip, Sweep

The arc shibori technique requires the most precise folding of all shibori forms — each pleat determines exactly where the colour sweeps across the finished fabric.

01
Fan Folding

Cotton khaddar is accordion-folded from one corner diagonally, creating precise fan pleats that will form the sweeping arc pattern.

02
Dot Binding

Along each fold, individual points of fabric are pinched and tied tightly with thread — these become the pink oval resist dots visible on the finished fabric.

03
Dye Immersion

The folded, bound fabric is submerged in deep teal dye. The tightly bound dot areas resist — pink and white emerge where bindings protected the cloth.

04
Unbinding & Reveal

After shade drying and heat-setting, all bindings removed — the dramatic sweeping arc with its dotted trail is revealed in full.

Wear It Your Way

Teal Drama. Pink Energy. Your Silhouette.

Hot pink grounds the bold teal arc pattern with a colour pop that turns heads without effort. The flowing dupatta carries the same energy — teal and pink in harmony, with a dramatic stripe border at the hem.

Unstitched — tailored to your exact measurements for a perfect fit every time.

The Dupatta

Lines That Flow. Borders That Bold.

Curved lines of pink oval resist dots travel across the teal body — echoing the arc energy of the kurta. The hem transitions into a bold teal, white and hot pink horizontal shibori stripe border that makes this dupatta a statement on its own.

Wash & Care

Guard the Colour. Honour the Craft.

  • Hand wash separately in cold water with mild detergent.
  • Do not soak or scrub dyed areas. No bleach or harsh chemicals.
  • Dry in shade — direct sunlight fades teal and pink dyes.
  • Iron on low heat from reverse side only. Do not wring harshly.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Need Help?

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We're here to help.

Does khadi get softer with every wash?

Usually, it does. After each wash, the fibers tend to relax and the fabric gets looser, thus giving a softer and more comfortable feeling.

Is the Sky Blue Traditional Cotton Khadi fabric truly handspun and handwoven?

Yes. The Sky Blue Traditional Cotton Khadi fabric is handspun and handwoven by artisans who are skilled and who use traditional looms, thus each piece has a unique texture.

Is this khadi fabric breathable and comfortable for summer wear?

Yes. Khadi is a breathable fabric and is lightweight as well, so it allows the air to pass and keeps the skin cool. It is very comfortable for summer wear.

Will the sky blue colour fade after a few washes?

No. The sky blue colour stays bright if you care for it properly. Use cold water for washing with a mild soap and dry in the shade to avoid fading of the colour.

What makes Khadi special?

Each Khadi Sadan product is crafted from authentic KVIC-certified hand-spun and hand-woven fabric, made by skilled rural artisans using natural fibers and dyes. Every piece supports sustainable livelihoods and carries forward India’s timeless textile heritage since 1982.

How should I care for my Khadi garment?

We recommend gentle hand wash or mild machine wash in cold water using eco-friendly detergent. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals. Dry in shade to preserve natural texture and color. With every wash, Khadi becomes softer and more comfortable aging beautifully with time.

Is Khadi suitable for all seasons?

Yes. Khadi’s natural fibers make it a year-round fabric — it keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter. Its breathable weave allows air circulation, making it one of the most comfortable and skin-friendly textiles for India’s diverse climate.

Do your garments shrink after wash?

Khadi may experience a slight, natural shrinkage (3–5%) during the first wash, which is a hallmark of genuine hand-woven fabric. To minimize this, always wash in cold water and avoid tumble drying.

Can I return or exchange my product?

Yes. We offer hassle-free returns or exchanges within 14 days of delivery for unused, unwashed products with tags intact. For assistance, contact our customer support via info@khaddarvas.com or WhatsApp us on our helpline. or call us at our toll free number 1800-309-8383
